Karen is the Director of Duck Pond Day Care Hamden. She has her degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working in the field of child care for 32 years. Karen has been with Duck Pond for over 25 years! She loves being with the kids and being in each room everyday.

Karen enjoys watching her daughters play collegiate sports and loving on her fur baby. She also enjoys going to the beach and is an avid reader.

Heather is the Director of Duck Pond Day Care Milford. She has her degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working in the field for 35 years. She worked as a Preschool 3’s teacher for 25 years before becoming the Director. She has been with Duck Pond for over 10 years.

Having raised 2 children, she and her husband look forward to quick getaways and longer trips alike. They love a good road-trip as much as tropical destinations! Spending time with her family and friends is important to her, she always has something to look forward to!

Katie is the Office Manager of Duck Pond Day Care. She has a degree in Business Administration and has been a part of Duck Pond for 26 years. She works on all business aspects related to the company. Since she is a veteran, one of her favorite things is seeing the children that attended Duck Pond as young adults. So many special friendships start at Duck Pond and last through their teenage years and beyond.

Katie enjoys watching her son play in multiple baseball leagues. He is the apple of her eye. She also enjoys puzzles. So much so that she started a puzzle competition at her son’s school.

Jodie is the Assistant Director of Hamden. She earned her degree in ECE when she graduated from Gateway Community College, Phi Theta Kappa. She has been working in the field of childcare for over 25 years and has been with Duck Pond for over 10 years!

Jodie enjoys attending concerts, traveling and spending time with her family and fur-babies. Jodie is Hamden’s lead curriculum coordinator. She is also a certified Dental Assistant.

Glenda is the Assistant Director Duck Pond Day Care Hamden. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been part of Duck Pond Day Care for over 20 years! She is currently teaching in the Preschool A classroom.

Glenda enjoys watching her 2 daughters compete in dance competitions. She has become a real “dance mom”. She also enjoys gardening and going for walks with her family and puppy (Macie).

Heather is the Assistant Director of Duck Pond Day Care Milford. She has her degree in early childhood education and has been working in childcare for over 20 years. Heather has been with Duck Pond for 18 years.

Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, her step children, her grandchildren and her two cats. You will often spot her out in her local community with friends and family.

Teachers

Duck Pond currently has 40 employees. 27 full time teachers and 13 support staff. Every employee has First Aid, CPR. Medical Administration including Anaphylaxis training and Department of Children and Families (DCF) training yearly. It is mandatory that all teachers participate in Continuing Education with new and up to date training programs. We participate with the CT ELDS curriculum.

Professional Consultants

Duck Pond Day Care has two Registered Nurse Consultants that are on the premises every week. There is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Educational Consultant that provide training and availability to staff and families if needed.

Child Development

Staff members are required to complete trainings such as First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration (injectables included), DCF training, etc. It is mandatory that all teachers participate in Continuing Education with new and up to date training programs. Our staff will be positive role models to both the children and parents. Their care will be undeniably supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child’s needs. At all times we will respect the parents as the primary and most important caregivers, because we believe that the parents and teachers must be partners in each child’s care, growth and education.

Yoga

Krista’s Kids Yoga is a fun musical movement class for children. Krista incorporates music, story, scarfs, breathing techniques and mindfulness while teaching age appropriate yoga poses that work on coordination, balance, mind/body connection, flexibility and strength. Her classes are always positive and encouraging with a twist of fun.
Krista has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and worked as a head Prek teacher for over a decade before becoming a mom. On top of her kids yoga program, Krista also works part-time for a few local gyms as a group fitness instructor.

Music & Movement

Infinity Music Therapy Services is a team of board-certified and Connecticut-licensed music therapists dedicated to helping your child grow through the power of music. Krista's Kids Yoga

Photography Consultant

Milena Cerqueira Photography is a premier Fairfield County, CT photographer specializing in creative maternity, newborn, cake smash and family photos.She provides a full service photography experience to capture all of the milestones of family life. Milena has won many awards including; NAPCP Master Photographer Maternity, Newborn and Baby Photo Awards. 

Milena was the photographer for our website and also offers school portraits for purchase. She has a portrait studio in Trumbull and will also photograph on location. You can see her visions come to life on her website!
