About Duck Pond Day Care

Thank you for your interest in Duck Pond Day Care! We are a private child care center licensed by the Office of Early Childhood, State of Connecticut. The primary goal of Duck Pond Day Care centers is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that is designed to meet the developmental needs of children. We provide classes for children ages 6-weeks through 6 years. We have part-time and full-time options available for enrollment. Our curriculum will address the cognitive, language, social/emotional growth, creative and physical needs of young children. Our purpose is to create an atmosphere in which children are able to develop a positive self-concept through a balance of teacher-directed and self-directed activities. We will provide opportunities for structured group activities as well as for independent play and quiet time. Our hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are open Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year, closing on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after and Christmas.

Child Development

One of the most important aspects of Duck Pond Day Care is the high caliber of our staff, their knowledge of child development and their commitment to providing excellent childcare. Staff members are required to complete trainings such as First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration (injectables included), DCF training, etc. It is mandatory that all teachers participate in Continuing Education with new and up to date training programs. Our staff will be positive role models to both the children and parents. Their care will be undeniably supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child’s needs. At all times we will respect the parents as the primary and most important caregivers, because we believe that the parents and teachers must be partners in each child’s care, growth and education.
